Tamilnadu Public Service Commission has announced recruitment notification for 14 Research Assistants in Evaluation and Applied Research Department.

Examination Date and Time

Paper 1 : Subject Paper Covering all the subjects -  06.03. 2016 FN (10.00 A.M. to 01.00 P.M.)

Paper - II : General Studies - 06.03. 2016 AN (02.30 P.M to 4.30PM.)

Last Dates  for Application

  • Last Date to Apply Online  : 14-01-2015
  • Last Date for Payment of Fee : 19-01-2015

Age Limit for the TNPSC Research Assistant

Age Limit (as on 01-07-2015)


Minimum : 18 years for all categories

Maximum :
  • No Maximum age limit for SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs (OBCM)s, BCMs and DWs of all castes
  • 30 Years for “Others” [i.e. Candidates not belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs and BCMs]

TNPSC Research Assistant Exam Pattern ( Total 570 Marks)

There will be two papers in the written examination. After the result, an Oral Test will be conducted.

PAPER I : P.G. Degree Standard Subjects comprising Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Administration, Social Work, Sociology, Anthropology, Agricultural Economics and Public Administration. (Code : 213) - 200 Questions – 300 Marks – 3 Hours

PAPER II : General Studies (Degree Standard) - 100 Questions – 200 Marks – 2 Hours

Interview and Record : 70 Marks
