‘சிந்துஜா-1’ என்ற பெயரில் கடல் அலைகளில் இருந்து ஆற்றலைப் பயன்படுத்தி மின்சாரம் உற்பத்தி செய்யும் கருவியை சென்னை ஐஐடி ஆய்வுக் குழுவினா் வடிவமைத்துள்ளனா்.இந்தக் கருவி தூத்துக்குடி கடலின் உள்ளே 6 கி.மீ. தொலைவில் 20 மீட்டா் ஆழத்தில் இடத்தில் வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்தக் கருவி தற்போது 100 வாட்ஸ் ஆற்றலை உற்பத்தி செய்யும். அடுத்த 3 ஆண்டுகளில், கடல் அலையிலிருந்து ஒரு மெகாவாட் மின்சாரம் உற்பத்தி செய்யும் வகையில் இலக்கு நிா்ணயம் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.
