TNPSC Exam and TNUSRB Sub Inspector Written Exam - Similarities

I, recently had a conversation with a Sub Inspector who has been selected in the TNUSRB 2010 SI Selection and scored very good mark in the Written Exam. He advised there is no big difference between TNPSC preparation and TNUSRB SI Selection Written Exam preparation. He listed out some similarities.

1.Both Exams have General Knowledge portion. In TNUSRB 40 questions are from GK. The syllabus also almost same for both TNPSC and TNUSRB Exams.

2.In TNUSRB Sub Inspector Exam Written Test there are 30  questions from Psychology related questions. Among them more number of questions are Mental Ability / Aptitude related questions. Just very less questions are asked from Police Psychology or department related questions. So one who prepare for Mental Ability Portion of TNPSC Exam can easily overcome TNUSRB Psychology Questions.

3.Tamil and Tamilnadu related questions are presence in both TNPSC and TNUSRB SI selection Written Examination.
My conclusion : If you have a look at both TNPSC and TNUSRB Syllabuses, you will find that the TNUSRB Syllabus portions are very less. So don't worry, you can complete the whole SI Selection Syllabus with in two months and spend the remaining days for revision and mock tests.
So, don't be confused about the Study Materials for TNUSRB SI Selection, start prepare using TNPSC Exams Study Materials for General Knowledge and Psychology or Mental Ability. All the best !
