தமிழ்நாட்டில் செங்கல்பட்டு, விருதுநகர், திண்டுக்கல், திருப்பூர் என மேலும் 4 நகரங்களில் ‘நீட்’ தேர்வு மையங்கள் அமைக்கப்படுவதாக மத்திய கல்வி மந்திரி தர்மேந்திர பிரதான் அறிவித்துள்ளார். கடந்த ஆண்டு தமிழ்நாட்டில் 14 நகரங்களில் இந்த தேர்வு நடத்தப்பட்டது. இதன் மூலம் தற்போது 18 நகரங்களில் நடக்க இருக்கிறது.
