75-ஆவது சுதந்திர தின நினைவுத் தூண் சென்னையில் முதலமைச்சர் மு.க.ஸ்டாலின் அவர்களால் 15-8-2021 அன்று திறந்து வைக்கப்பட்டது. இந்த நினைவுத் தூண் 42 அடி உயரம் கொண்ட துருப்பிடிக்காத உலோகத்தால் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த நினைவுத்தூணில் 5 அடி உயரத்தில் 4 தலையுடன் கூடிய சிங்க முகம், 8 அடி உயர அசோக சக்கரம் பொருத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. துப்பாக்கி ஏந்திய ராணுவ வீரர்களின் சிலைகள் நினைவு தூணில் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
