சர்வதேச வானியல் ஒன்றியத்தின் (International Astronomical Union) கெளரவ உறுப்பினராகியுள்ள முதல் இந்தியர் எனும் பெருமையை டோர்ஜெ அங்குக் (Dorje Angchuk ) பெற்றுள்ளார்.
கூ.தக. : 1919 ல் தொடங்கப்பட்ட சர்வதேச வானியல் ஒன்றியத்தின் தலைமையிடம் பிரான்ஸ் நாட்டின் பாரிஸ் நகரில் அமைந்துள்ளது.
