தகவல் தொழில்நுட்பச் சட்டம் 2000 (Information Technology Act, 2000) இன் ரத்து செய்யப்பட்ட பிரிவு 66 ஏ ன் கீழ் வழக்குகளை பதிவு செய்ய வேண்டாம் என்று மத்திய உள்துறை அமைச்சகம் மாநிலங்கள் மற்றும் மத்திய பிரதேசங்கள் தங்கள் அதிகார எல்லைக்குட்பட்ட அனைத்து காவல் நிலையங்களையும் அறிவுறுத்துமாறு கோரியுள்ளது.
ஸ்ரேயா சிங்கால் Vs. மத்திய அரசு (Shreya Singhal Vs. Union of India) வழக்கில் 24.03.2015 அன்று உச்ச நீதிமன்றம் தனது தீர்ப்பில் தகவல் தொழில்நுட்பச் சட்டம், 2000 இன் பிரிவு 66 ஏவை நீக்கியது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
